Use of this website

This website provides information about AssessKit and free fire risk assessment tools. The content is for general information purposes only and does not constitute professional fire safety advice. You should always engage a qualified fire risk assessor for formal assessments.

Free tools

The free tools on this website (calculators, checklists) are provided as-is for informational purposes. Results are indicative and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional fire risk assessment. We accept no liability for decisions made based on tool outputs.

Intellectual property

All content on this website, including text, images, and software, is owned by Crocker Digital Ltd or used under licence. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without our written permission.

Accounts and plans

Creating an account does not by itself create a paid contract. Paid plans are governed by the plan and billing interval you select at checkout. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from your billing settings; on cancellation you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

Refunds and cancellation

If you are a consumer in the UK, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you a 14-day right to cancel a new paid subscription, starting the day the subscription begins (the "cooling-off period"). AssessKit is a digital service that begins as soon as your plan is active, so by subscribing you ask us to start providing it during the cooling-off period. If you cancel within those 14 days we will refund what you have paid, less a proportionate amount for the service already provided up to the point you tell us. To exercise this right, email support@assesskit.co.uk within 14 days of starting the subscription. A new 14-day cooling-off period applies at the start of each new subscription term, including annual renewals.

Outside the 14-day cooling-off period you can cancel at any time from your billing settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and we do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused part of a period.

Cancellation and data retention

On cancellation, your organisation's data is retained for a 90-day grace period during which CSV and PDF export remain available so you can take a copy of your assessments, clients, sites and actions. After the grace period the organisation record and its associated business data are hard-deleted. Audit logs are retained for 12 months and the transactional email log for 90 days, regardless of subscription status. Stripe retains payment records for 7 years under UK tax law. Data processing and acceptable use

Where you use AssessKit to record fire risk assessments, you may process personal data about your clients and the premises you assess. That processing is governed by our Data Processing Agreement (at https://assesskit.co.uk/dpa), which forms part of these terms. Your use of the service is also subject to our Acceptable Use Policy (at https://assesskit.co.uk/acceptable-use).

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of this website or reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
